HELLO QUARTZSITE, ARIZONA

Drove from Yuma Lakes to Quartzsite today and met up with all our Lewis & Clark friends.  We're staying at the free camping area near mile marker 99.

After saying hi to everyone and getting ourselves settled in, we took a stroll over to the ham radio section to find our their schedule.  They have almost 600 people signed up for the Quartzfest.  We found out that there will be activities all week and the written exam will be given on Wednesday and Saturday.  Now we'll really have to get serious about studying if we want to pass.

The Lewis & Clark group planned a potluck for tonight.  I tossed a spinach, rice, corn and cilantro salad with honey dressing together and we joined the party. Sitting by the bonfire, it was fun to chat with old friends and make some new ones.

All the hams gathering for happy hour

Hope you had a wonderful day too.  Thanks for stopping in to say hi.

GOODBYE YUMA LAKES

Time to say goodbye to one of my favorite parks in Arizona, Yuma Lakes.  It's very pretty and peaceful.  We'll be heading over to Quartzsite tomorrow.

We're hoping to take the ham radio test while we're there but we haven't been studying enough.  Today while Denis was helping Tony get his TV receiver working (all day without success).   I sat outside enjoying the sunshine and studying the ham radio study guide.  The test is 35 multiple choice questions picked out of 365.

We plan on meeting up with friends while we're there, which will be fun.

Late in the afternoon, I walked 8,300 steps around the park snapping photos along the way.

Hope you all had a nice day and thank you for stopping in to say hi.  Maybe we'll see some of you at the Blogger Fest in Quartzsite.
