FAST TRACKING ACROSS THE STATES

Moving along from one state to another and making great time.  Denis did some careful planning and worked out our travels back to New England nicely.  We stay one maybe two nights at a Walmart and then he's booked us into a campground for two or three nights.

Stayed here for a few nights

Nice open woodsy campground
Driving in a diesel coach is much nicer than our old gas one.   I'm much more relaxed, the ride is smoother, quieter and more stable.  Denis loves driving it and keeps repeating that it practically drives by itself.  Well, I'm not so sure about that, because I tried driving the beast for a bit and found that gas pedal difficult and uncomfortable.  Now I understand why Denis uses the cruise control all the time.

The most quiet Walmart so far

Saw this at a rest stop and wondered
where the other half was
Yesterday we checked into Stoney Creek Resort & Campground in Greenville, Virginia.  This is our first time visiting the park and it's nice but certainly not a 5-star resort.  The sites are large, lots of trees, narrow but sturdy bridges over the multiple brooks running through the park and most of the roads are broken up asphalt and/or gravel.   It's definitely a summer hot spot for locals and lots of the sites are permanent.  Unfortunately, it may rain the entire time we're here but that's okay because we can catch up on stuff we've been putting off.

Stoney Creek Resort - we're
not used to so much green
Finally we found out why my washing machine only fills with hot water.  The hoses were reversed.  Just like that, Denis reversed them and now I have cold, warm and hot water.  Thank you Denis for calling tech support and getting to the bottom of it.

Today we took the time to schedule our summer plans and I think we're going to have a fun time with family and friends.  We'll be spending a lot of time at Moody Beach, Maine, some time in Quebec and Connecticut and a tour of the Canadian Maritimes.

Thanks for stopping in to say hi.

ROLLING, ROLLING, ROLLING, GOTTA KEEP THOSE DOGGIES ROLLING

Spent last night at the Walmart in Richland, Mississippi and it was pleasantly quiet.  We picked up a few groceries while we were there and got a good night's sleep.

This morning we drove 217 miles to Wilderness RV Park in Robertsdale, Alabama.  We left later than we had planned because we had to attend to some business and then, unfortunately, we missed the exit for 10 East and ended up driving through the suburbs of Alabama.  Some people call it the "pig trail" and that's where we were.  Very skinny 2-lane road with low hanging live oak trees - it was a nightmare.  Denis did great and we got through the nightmare and back onto 10 East and arrived safe and sound at the park.

Between trying to return business phone calls, driving with all the crazies and then dealing with an unreasonable painting customer, I could not wait to do some exercises, have a glass of wine and relax.

We're all settled in now.  Denis "unwound" by washing down the coach and car while I meditated and exercised.  We're okay now but I don't remember the last time we had such a high-pressure day.  I'm glad that they are far and few between.

Drove through Louisiana

Passed through Mississippi
I didn't take many photos because all we did was drive.  But we did get through two states and we're only 350 miles to Jacksonville.  Yeah!

After a light dinner, we took a nice walk around the park to stretch our legs before getting ready to call it a day.
