This morning we moved from one end of the island to the other. Denis found another campground in Murray River with waterfront sites and we scoffed it right up. He chose this campground because it's only 20 minutes to the ferry which will take us to Nova Scotia.
Yesterday we enjoyed a north cape coastal drive. It was a leisurely hour drive through small communities with names like Summerside, Miscouche and O'Leary until we arrived at Tignish. This quaint seafaring community is rich in culture and civic pride. A place where seaweed soaps, quilts and fresh bread are still made by hand every day. I packed a lunch, found a nice spot to eat and enjoy the coastal view. North cape boasts the longest natural rock reef in North America, the North Cape Lighthouse and the Wind Energy Institute/Interpretive Center of Canada. Very cool place to visit.
On the ride back, we had to make a stop at the Canadian Potato Museum & Antique Farm Machinery Museum.

I forgot to post our visit to Green Gables. I read Anne of Green Gables to prepare for this trip and I'm glad I did because it brought the story to life when I visited the house, gardens and forest paths that inspired the author, Lucy Maud Montgomery to write her 1908 novel. I also visited her childhood home. For those of you that read the book, you'll understand how cool it was to walk the paths of Lover's Lane and the Haunted Wood.
