Happy New Year 2013

Wishing everyone a healthy and Happy New Year.  The park had a New Year's party last night but we decided to stay in because Denis' fever broke and he was just starting to feel better and a lot of people in the park are sick.  Even our friends, Dave & Sharon, decided to stay in.  Because we got so much rest we had lots of energy to visit Magic Kingdom and walk around for five hours (I think that's a record of us).

Our first stop was a gift store to buy a Disney charm for the beautiful sterling silver charm bracelet Denis surprised me with for Christmas.  Because we had an annual pass, they gave us a 10% discount.

The day was sunny and warm with temperatures close to 80.  We spent most of our time in Frontier Land.  We got a good soaking on Splash Mountain and rode the Pirates of the Caribbean while waiting for our fast pass time.   Had time to grab a quick lunch before we could ride Space Mountain.  Disney is one of the few places that lets me order from the children's menu and I was very happy with my little cheeseburger, sliced apples, carrot sticks and grapes.  Denis got the adult size chicken wrap.

The animation and colors in Splash Mountain was magical

Leaving the park we watched the Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade,  Main Street Philharmonic and rode the Haunted Mansion Ride in Liberty Square. We were surprised at how crowded the park was for New Year's day and were glad to be heading home.

The flowers always look beautiful at the park

This is how I look when there's too many people, too much noise and too tired - but just look at that beautiful blue sky and the sun felt wonderful and we found a seat to people watch for a while
