This park is so quiet and peaceful we decided to stay another night. If you're looking for dark, star-lit skies and extreme quiet, this is the place for you. You can visit http://friendsofrockhound.org/ for events, education and sharing.
Talking about peace and quiet, for those of you looking to reduce stress and your blood pressure, here's an interesting article. Just click on this link:

This morning we each did our own thing. Denis washed the car and coach because of all the dust storms we drove through to get here. I had a good yoga practice, did some weight bearing exercises and tried out my new jump rope. Jumping rope was a lot easier when I was a kid. For lunch, I made some corn bread (the last of the organic fresh ground corn meal) and a bowl of lentil soup.
After lunch we took the longer hike up Little Florida Mountain.
| I would come back here just for the sunsets |
When we got back to the campground the sun was setting and it was the most beautiful sunset I've ever seen.
| I was very excited about this sunset |
The Ibex increases our interest. We passed through R.H.St. Pk. They were expecting 50 mph winds, so we went back down to firmer ground. Hope to return.
