FOUND A GOOD CHIROPRACTOR

Thank you all for the well wishes after our rear-ender fender-bender on Wednesday.  Yesterday we saw a chiropractor for a complete evaluation and x-rays.  Today we went back for the results and treatment recommendations.  The x-rays showed we both suffered trauma to the neck and lower back.  We had our first treatment and we will be going there every morning for the next week.  Then we'll have two weeks off and resume treatment for another week.  The doctor has recommended a 30-day treatment plan but it all depends on how well we respond.

The driver's Allstate insurance has accepted full responsibility for the accident and thankfully all our medical and car repair expenses will be paid in full.  Good thing because the chiropractor charges between $135-$220 an hour.

We've been to chiropractors before and they all seem to have their own technique.  We have a favorite in Massachusetts that uses the AK (Applied Kinesiology) technique, which we love.  This chiropractor started us with infrared heat for ten minutes, than he did his spinal manipulations (pretty standard), then we laid on a padded table that provided a rolling massage (my favorite part) and the final treatment was those little electrodes on the neck and lower back.  Our headaches went away almost immediately but we are still very achy (me more than Denis).  Looks like I'll be taking a couple of aspirin again tonight to get a good night's sleep.

His office is located next to Albertson's so we did a little shopping before heading home.  That afternoon we had the Mexicans come to wash and wax the coach for $35.  I got my carpets cleaned (still trying to get that dog smell removed) for another $35. They did a wonderful job.  We also had someone come to fix our generator which turned out to be a couple of corroded wires but he'll be back tomorrow to do a full maintenance (which is overdue).

Around 2:30 while the carpets were drying I went for a swim (the water was refreshing, not too warm).  Denis was helping Tony repair his electric stairs - he needs a new motor.  Then everyone came over to the pool before it was time to head back for a quick happy hour.

I didn't plan on making dinner and ended up with steamed fresh beets and baked potatoes.  I know it sounds weird but actually it was filling and pretty tasty.

  1. Glad to hear you got some relief. I know it's going to take awhile though before you get total relief. Wow - $35 is awfully good for a wash and wax. Wish we could find somebody out here for that.
