ANOTHER EXCITING ADVENTURE

Monday morning we woke up before sunrise to be sure we got the San Luis border early.  Only problem is we ended up in Baja before we realized we were heading the wrong way.  We had a choice turn left and go back to San Luis or turn right and try crossing in Algodones.  For some stupid reason we decided to try Algodones.  BIG MISTAKE and we should have known better.  We've walked the streets of Algodones and know how narrow they are.  It was a nightmare!   The people were wonderful and they helped us get the heck out of there.  We found out that our motorhomes were too large to fit through their border and we were escorted out of town and told to go back to San Luis.
Waking up to a beautiful sunrise

Sun just coming up and we're ready to hit the road
Lined up and ready to leave Mexico
What should have taken us just a few hours to get to Yuma wound up taking the day.  We had to stop two times for Mexico inspections and then again at the US border.  Call me silly but I'm less intimated by the Mexico inspections with their machine guns and tanks than I am of the USA inspection.  God forbid we take in some plant or fruit that will wreck havoc with the United States.  It was quite the adventure and I'm leaving out a lot of little details.

This is the sign we should not have seen on our way to San Luis - oops, where did we go wrong?

About a one-hour wait at the San Luis border - plenty to see along the way and vendors selling their wares

Innovative
We're all settled in for a couple of weeks and ran into friends here at the park.  We joined them for happy hour and found ourselves laughing like fools when Gene did an imitation of the noise made when he vacuums flying insects out of the air.  You had to be there!

We keep bumping in to Terry and Sharon - first time we met was in Alaska

New friends Gene and Carol - they were neighbors of Gail and introduced her to Larry
That's all folks!  Thanks for stopping in.

  1. Oh no trying to drive your coach through Algodones, definitely not a good thing, glad you finally made your way back across the border safely.
