QUICK TRIP TO QUEBEC - NO GRANDDAUGHTER YET

Drove up to Quebec last Thursday for my future daughter-in-laws birthday.  Her birthday and our granddaughter's due date were the same day and we were hoping the baby would arrive while we were there.  Unfortunately, baby is not ready to see the world and we drove back to the states on Saturday morning.

We celebrated Karen's birthday at St. Hubert's and had the opportunity to meet her mom.  Although her English was limited and my French is terrible, Michele and I got along great and we're both looking forward to our very first grandchild.

To save gas, we didn't take the motor home and didn't know where we were staying when we got there.  But our friends, Clement and Monique, offered their sofa bed and we took them up on it. They were even kind enough to fix us breakfast in the morning.   Thank you Clement and Monique for your hospitality.

On Friday night, we stayed at Daniel's (a bed was set up in their unfinished basement) and I must admit it was more comfortable than the sofa bed we slept on the night before.  We had dinner at the house with Daniel, Karen, Michele and David which gave us another opportunity to get to know each other better.  By this time, the six-hour drive and lack of sleep got the better of us and we went to bed early to prepare for our drive back to the states the next morning.

Karen saw the doctor on Friday and was told that if she doesn't go into labor by Thursday, they are going to induce labor either Thursday or Friday.  So now we're playing the waiting game and will drive back, hopefully, in time for the delivery.  All this is very exciting for us.
