HAPPY BIRTHDAY HUBBY

Denis celebrated his 65th birthday on October 30th.  He bought himself a new tablet and has been busy installing software and setting it up just the way he wants it.  I treated him to an all-you-can-eat fish dinner at the campground and he was a happy hubby.

We had the good fortune to be able to meet up with Denis' brother and sister in Florida.  It was his brother John's birthday and his sister Lorraine's wedding anniversary.  We went out for a rather high-class dinner and it was delicious.  For the first time ever, Denis, John and Lorraine went golfing together and it was very special for them.

Reaching 65 is a milestone and we are learning all about Social Security and Medicare.  Spent hours on the phone trying to figure out what direction to go with.  Got three different answers from Social Security, Healthgov and Medicare.  After all that, he ended up with Original Medicare and he went from cheap Healthgov medical insurance to paying the $104 monthly premium for Part B Medicare. I still have another couple of years before Medicare but I'm glad that I won't need to do all that research again.

We hooked up with Bob and Jackie Hood and would have liked to do more outside activities with them but it's been very hot and muggy.  One day we took to our bikes around the park but came back overheated and in need of a shower.  We did go out for a nice, yet inexpensive, Italian dinner one night and 10% of the bill went to the local parish.  Not a bad deal.

Our prays will be with Jackie because of the eye surgery she is scheduled to have done this month.

Christi got me hooked on an exercise program called Essentrics.  It's a 25-minute workout that is designed to sculpt, strengthen and stretch the entire body.  Great workout and it's a change from the yoga program I've been doing for years.

I almost forgot to tell you about our visit to see the relic of St. Maria Goretti.  In honor of the Jubilee of Mercy, the USA tour of the major relics of St. Maria Goretti was on display in our neck of the woods.  Her story is incredible and you can read about her if you click this link Who is St. Maria Goretti.  We waited outside the church for over an hour for the first viewing that morning.  The church was packed and more people were lined up for the second viewing.  What an amazing an deeply moving morning.

Thank you for stopping in to say hi.
