PALM SPRINGS RV PARK

Back in California and staying at the TT in Palm Desert.  There are other Lewis and Clark members here and we visited with Bill & Susan Rasmussen.

For us Catholics, this week is holy week and Denis got the idea in his head to fast for the entire week.  He blends a smoothie with spinach, kale, apple, banana and flax seed every morning and drinks the concoction three times a day.  I don't know how he survives plus he had enough energy to take two long hikes.  For me, I gave up my obsession with checking Facebook and no alcohol (and you know I do love a glass of wine or a cold beer for happy hour).

The all trails app brought up the Bump and Grind Trail in Palm Desert,  It was a nice 3-mile, 767 foot elevation, moderate loop with ups, downs, switchbacks and varied terrain.   It took us 1:50 minutes and we ended up with 3.22 miles. We were surprised how busy the trail was for being a weekday. It was a good workout and the weather was not as hot as it has been with a nice breeze.

The following day we went to the Coachella Valley Natural Preserve and put in another 2-hour hike and 4.45 miles.  It's a much easier trail but had beautiful wild flowers and views along the way.

Love the oasis in the desert

This little guy was nice enough to
pose for us

We're having fun decorating the coach in a Southwestern theme and had one of those spray-can paintings done in Mexico. It is bright and cheery but not exactly the Arizona sunset I was hoping for.

Finished and framed (got some glare
from the lights)

I got the idea of taking some of our travel photos that look like landscape postcards and put them in a collage frame.  We found exactly what I was looking for at Walmart.  As part of the frame it has the words "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away".  Love that saying, don't you?   The frame is perfect for the photos of the Grand Canyon, Devil's Tower, the Everglade slog, fishing the Kenai, Denali, the Arches, well you get the "picture" - LOL.   We're very happy with the results.

Isn't it nice and the price was right too
Thanks all for stopping in to say hi.
