WHERE DID JULY GO?

The entire month of July sped by with our family and friends.  My last post was back in June and here it is August 2nd.  That old saying must be true, "time flies when you're having fun".

I'm certainly not going to remember what we everyday since my last post so here's some highlights.

We've been staying at Moody Beach in Maine which is a family campground run by friendly staff.  The best thing about this park is the location.  From the park, it's a 10 minute bike ride to the beach.  We just strap on our Tommy Bahama beach chairs and off we go for the day.

My brother and Kathleen came down from Connecticut for a visit on the 16th. This was the first time that my brother and I shared our RVing lifestyle and it was very special for me.  It was also the first time that we've had company stay with us in the new coach.  I think everyone was very comfortable.  We used a queen-sized air mattress on top of the sofa bed and simply left the mattress made, picked it up after a good night's sleep and put it on top of our king-size bed. So much easier that making and unmaking the sofa bed every day.  The guest bathroom was an added luxury we didn't have with our old coach.

Ken and Kathleen spent three nights in Moody and we had sunny beach days, a full moon walk along the Marginal Way with dinner overlooking Perkin's Cove. They experienced how we break down camp, travel to another destination and set up camp at the Mt. Desert Narrows Campground in Acadia National Park. Visiting Acadia was on Kathleen's bucket list and she was very excited.

We spent three nights in Acadia and managed to pack in a 15-mile bike ride, a 5-mile mountain hike, an afternoon tea with Jordan Lake's famous popovers and a lobster feast.  We nicknamed Kathleen Rambo Junior because she was the force behind our adventures.

After Ken and Kathleen left we drove to the Canadian border to visit with our son, Daniel, Karen and grand daughter Kiev.  However, our plans changed abruptly when we got to the border and learned that WE could go through but our Montana company vehicles could not.  That's a first for us and a very good learning experience.  We turned around and found a place to stay in Jackman, Maine where Daniel and his family joined us for three nights. Again, our coach accommodated everyone quite comfortably.  We put a crib in our bedroom and was blessed with adorable baby chatter in the morning.   The days flew by and I hated saying goodbye.

After saying goodbye to them we had to quickly drive back down to Moody because our daughter, Christi, and Phil were waiting for us.  They spent 5-nights with us enjoying the beach, a game of mini-golf (Denis won), a spin around the go-cart track (Christi won), another lobster feast and a rainy day marathon game of Mexican Train (Denis won).
