Plenty of Sunshine Heading our Way ....

I've caught that island feeling, slowing the pace and learning to relax.... and it's wonderful.  For some reason, I wake earlier than usual here and love to make a pot of coffee, take my mug, camera and walk the water's edge.  The bird's are just begging me to take their photo and I'd like to share them with you.

Red-Bellied Woodpecker "Zebra-Backed" - I heard him before seeing him

This is when I first spotted him.
I think he's a beauty.
First shot

Practising my camera skills with continuous flash.  I think I did a nice job capturing the moment when this Great White Heron took flight.
Second shot

Today I discovered how to recognize the difference between a Great Egret and a Great White Heron.  The Egret stands 39" tall and has black legs and the Heron stands 47" tall and has pale legs.

Third shot

Notice that this one has black legs - so it must be an Egret

Went to Robbie's for a Key Lime Beer at the Hungry Tarpon Restaurant and shared a starter of Conch Ceviche (which is a local favorite).  Ceviche is a dish which is marinated in lime juice overnight, in this case, conch was used but it is made with all types of fish.  They chop it up with onions, tomatoes, lettuce and you scoop it up with a fried chip.  Loved it!

Life is good and God is great
Wouldn't you agree?
