Indian Canyons - Palm Springs, CA

 Palm Desert, CA

Entrance Toll Booth
A beautiful day for a hike, the sun is shining and warm with just a touch of breeze.  Paid our $14 entrance fee at Indian Canyons Agua Caliente Indian Reservation where you "walk in the foot steps of their ancestors".  Here's the link if you'd like to learn more: http://www.indian-canyons.com/

Palm trees, mountain and snow capped peaks - just beautiful

We didn't see the endangered Peninsular Big Horn Sheep, mule deer or any other wild animals.  But we did see a few lizards and lots of hummingbirds.

They have over 20 well-marked trails with all difficulty levels.  Some are for hiking or equestrian only, others are shared.  For those of you who love to hike, this is a place you must visit.

Trailhead
Tony and Mieke are ready for some serious hiking

This feeder was very popular with the hummingbirds
This one has a short tail - wonder if that's normal?
Love to see a little color in the desert
This short hike is preparing us for the longer hike tomorrow.  Stay tuned.

  1. I'm beginning to think that practice hike wasn't such a good idea. Two days in the row of hiking is exhausting. Bet I sleep great tonight

    1. Thanks for joining my blog. It's nice to have new visitors. The hiking was just the way I like it .. varied terrain and just a little challenging without being overwhelming.
