Palm Springs TT

Indio, CA - Partly sunny skies mid-60's

Found a lovely site here at the park and got all settled in yesterday.  Bought some just harvested dates from their on-site date palm trees and ended the day with a soak in their sparkling clean hot tub.

Denis had big plans today to change the seal on the toilet and replace the faucet in the kitchen.  Sounds simple, right?  Wrong, nothing is ever simple when it comes to RV repairs.  No problem with the toilet bowl seal because he's done that before but replacing the kitchen faucet ended up being an all-day project.  First the trip to Home Depot to buy a Moen faucet, no problem.  Come back, install it and find out we need an adapter (you know that male, female plumbing stuff?)  Go back to Costco and they're all out so I took a photo of the part we need and go to Ace Hardware.  They give us what they think will work but it doesn't, so back to Ace and they don't have the part, so we go to another Ace and the guy there seemed to know what he was talking about.  In between all this, we go grocery shopping, to Costco and Walmart.  Needless to say we started this project before noon and it's almost 7 PM and Denis is still under the sink and now he's doing a lot of moaning because of all the contortions he needs to do to get underneath the sink.  I'm just so glad it wasn't MY idea to change the faucet.

The BEST part of the day was that we could eat REAL food ... our 8-day cleanse is over and we survived.  So we started the day with eggs and toast, went to a Chinese restaurant for a light lunch and had BBQ chicken and baked yams for dinner.

Denis just announced that the faucet job is almost finished and it doesn't seem to be leaking.  All is well ... Yipee!

Good night and God bless!

  1. Looks like he got the job done, I have found too that things are made specifically for RV's and houses need to be adapted never straight forward.
Nice that you can eat real food again!
    Enjoy the Palm Springs area.

  2. We noticed this morning that he had the handle of the faucet in backwards and had to fix it. Food has never tasted better!
