We have been spoiled while staying at the State and National Parks because when the lights go out it's very dark and very quiet. Here at Pilots Knob, we heard trains, cars, people talking, dogs barking and they have park lights. I guess we'll just have to get used to it.
Got an early start this morning with Tony and Mieke for our five minute drive into Mexico for our dental appointment. I got my teeth cleaned and Denis started the procedure for getting four crowns. Dr. Sonia at Cosmetic and General Dentistry in Los Algodones came highly recommended. Susan cleaned my teeth and she did a fabulous job, very thorough and gentle but she found some cavities, ugh! Denis' appointment took almost four hours so Tony, Mieke and I had time to shop around a bit and have lunch. We'll be going back on Tuesday for Denis' permanent crowns and for my fillings.

This was our first visit to Los Algodones and it appeared safe, clean and offered whatever the tourist might be looking for. Of course, it is inundated with dentists, opticians and drug stores.
I watched this artist for 10 minutes work his magic. I knew he'd want me to buy the painting when he finished so I told him upfront I wasn't buying but that doesn't deter these guys. The price started at $25 with frame, quickly dropped to $20 and his final offer was $13 without the frame. I wasn't crazy about the mountain scene but he had a metal tray with an Arizona scene and Kokopellis that was very nice. I'll take another look on Tuesday when we go back.
