Change of Plans

Left Saddlehorn Campground this morning heading for Blue Mesa RV Resort in Gunnison.  The drive was interesting with lots of switchbacks, canyons, climbs up, down and through the Rocky Mountains with elevations around 8,000.

This park is in a great location and has horseback riding - too bad there's no phone service

Spring is here in Colorado and this Robin loved to pose for a photo

We pulled into Blue Mesa and no one was in the office.  They posted a sign saying just find a site and see them in the morning.  No problem, we found a very pretty sight with a view.  Got all hooked up, emptied our tanks, filled with fresh water, Denis buffed out the long scratch we got from a tree branch getting out of Saddlehorn and washed that side of the coach.  I steamed some wild rice with carrots and onions.

All settled in and Denis says "Houston we have a problem" - no phone service.  Silly us, now we're at a Walmart in Gunnison with full phone service, TV and internet.  The painting season is kicking in and we have a new crew starting on Monday.  This weekend we need to be able to video conference with them and get them set up to start the job.  ''

Now I wished we had stopped at Black Canyon National Park when we drove by it on our way to Blue Mesa.  As we were driving by, we said we'd take a day trip there after we got settled in.  The morale of the story is don't put off seeing something along the way because life is a journey not a destination.

Thanks for stopping in.

  1. Sure can't have phone service, think you could be getting into more of those areas as you head north.
