Kootenay Rockies, British Columbia - Cold and rainy with a side of avalanches, flooding and evacuations - Welcome to Canada

| Waterton Glacier International Peace Park |
We drove in the rain most of yesterday afternoon, crossing the Waterton border which is the other end of Glacier National Park where the Peace Park is located. We crossed without incident, surviving the floods and road washouts along the way. Happily, we arrived safe and sound at Alton and Wendy King's home in East Kootenay. They live in a nice secluded area on two plus acres and they had a nice RV site with full hookups waiting for us. We met Al and Wendy six years ago in Benson, Arizona. They also drive a Commander motorhome and we formed the Commander's Club.

| No rain at the moment |
Al and Wendy invited us to tasty homemade shrimp creole dinner. There's nothing better than reconnecting with friends over good food, conversation and wine. They told us that roads have closed in the direction we're heading and it might be a good idea to hunker down with them for a few nights. I think this is a good plan.
