GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK

We've arrived
We left LuAnn and Joe's place a little before 7:00 this morning for our 120 mile drive to Teton National Park.  We made one stop in Dubois for fuel and propane.  The drive here was pleasant and the views spectacular.   The Tetons are unique and we got a good look at the glaciers.  We had planned on staying at Gros Ventre Campground where fellow bloggers Diane and Andy were camped.  However, we came in from the west entrance at Moran Station and Colter Bay Campground was just down the road so we decided to check it out.  We found a nice site and got settled in.  Even with our booster, phone and internet is limited.

Our first stop was at the Colter Bay Visitor Center to have our passport stamped, learn where we can find a Catholic church, pick up a hiking trail map and look at the exhibits and marina.  We needed groceries and took a drive through the park to Jackson Hole.  Denis has always wanted to see the ski area and it is very pretty but I bet it looks totally different in the winter.  The town was cute and loads of people were outside enjoying the sunshine, window shopping and strolling the boardwalks.  We snapped a few photos along the way and I'll share them with you later.

We located an Albertson's, did our shopping and headed home on the alternate route.  We saw herds of buffalo and some pronghorn.  We're hoping to spot the mama grizzly bear and her three cubs that have been seen in and around the Colter Bay area.

Til tomorrow - thanks for stopping in.
