TOK, ALASKA

Last night I read about Tisha, known as Anne Hobbs Purdy, who raised 10 children after arriving in Chicken in 1927.  The schoolhouse where she taught still stands and she is one of the areas most famous characters.  So I bought the book of her wonderful true love story in the Alaskan wilderness.  After pigging out on fresh out-of-the-oven cinnamon rolls from the Chicken Cafe, we started the 80 mile drive to Tok.  It rained all night and the roads were muddy for part of the way and we were very happy to see seal-coated gravel and then asphalt.

We arrived safely in Tok.
