WAITING IN BURNS LAKE, BC

Pretty tired after our exciting day yesterday and we got a good night's sleep.  The insurance company will let us know what they decide tomorrow. We're hoping they decide to total the car rather than make repairs.  Remember our Saturn is seven years old with 100,000 driving miles and another 120,000 of towed miles.  That's a lot of mileage any way you look at it.  The flower pictures are here because some days we all need a little color to brighten our day.

We'd like to get a pre-owned SUV maybe at 2011 or 2012 and we don't want another 4WD vehicle. We're looking into the Ford Escape/Edge or the Chevy Equinox.   Any of you RV bloggers have one of these as their tow vehicle?

We just hung out today.  Walked to the cafe that we smashed into yesterday and had a wonderful breakfast (seems the least we could do). The cafe is a health food store and cafe combined.  They served organic coffee and wonderful home made breads.

Center of town

Great place for breakfast or lunch - we hit the corner of this building on the right side

This is where we're hanging out for a while - great cell and internet service
We took a walk through town, located the sani-dump, had dinner at the A&W with a root beer float as a special treat.  Oh yeah, we located a barber that we're planning on visiting tomorrow.  It's been three months since our last haircut and we are both looking pretty wild.  Tonight we went to see the Lone Ranger.  It was funny and action packed.

If we get really desperate for something to do tomorrow, there's a bowling alley and a museum.

I really hope we don't have to stay here for repairs but if we do, we'll make the best of it.  The locals say that there are some beautiful provincial parks and great fishing in the area.

That's all folks!  Thanks for stopping in.

  1. Time for a new towed vehicle anyway, hope they total it and then you can carry on. Good luck.

  2. Fingers crossed that the insurance company does total it for you. We've never had either of those vehicles but since Jim worked for Chevy for 50 years, he would go with the Equinox.

  3. Hope your not stuck up there too long we've heard of places not too far from you already getting Frost advisories at night. Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.
