IS THERE SUCH A THING AS BAD LUCK?

Yesterday we got up early to get to the marketplace by 7:30.  Why you ask?  Well, Daniel wanted to buy the AcuXP Micro devise by Hidow International.  The devise is a dual-channel rechargeable battery operated muscle stimulation system that helps relieve muscle aches and pains, many chiropractors use this machine.  Daniel has a herniated disc from a work-related injury and it causes him pain.  We have a small unit that he was using while visiting us which worked well for him.  So when we saw this new and improved unit at the marketplace which usually sells for around $300 on special for $120, we decided we both needed one.

John & Norma Mitchell - Norma's a sweetheart and John is a jokester

The gangs all here for happy hour

Dale & Kathy - we met them in 2006 in Orlando on the pickleball courts
By getting in and out of the marketplace early we had plenty of time to tour the Titan Missile Site and drive the loop at Saguaro National Park. We hurried back to join Eric & Beth, Dale & Kathy, John & Norma and other neighbors for our final happy hour before leaving that park. We were an hour late due to Tucson traffic but they saved us some snacks.

This was our second visit but Daniel's first

Looking down into the site

Security was the highest priority during those volatile times
Woke up early again this morning to bring Daniel to Sky Harbor to catch his plane.  His flight left Phoenix on time, landed in Albuquerque around 11AM and then he had to hang around for hours waiting for his connecting plane to arrive.  He was supposed to leave Albuquerque for Chicago around 1PM but, unfortunately, his flight didn't leave until around 4PM with an ETA of 7PM.  The problem with that is his connecting flight out of Chicago was 7:30.  That plane was taking off when he landed and the airline issued new tickets for Monday morning from Chicago to Montreal to Quebec. Poor Daniel, his flight to Arizona was cancelled on December 22nd and he didn't get another flight until Christmas day, now his return flight is messed up.  Is this bad luck or just typical of air travel during the holidays?

So many of these beautiful saguaro's have been lost due to drought and freezing temperatures

The prickly pear cactus seems to be thriving

One of my favorite is the ocotillo

Still can't get Daniel to smile for the camera

He's almost smiling in this one

Thanks for stopping in.

  2. Air travel in the winter sure seems to be getting worse every year. I've decided we need to move Christmas to the summer so people can get home to be with family. Hope Daniel gets home without any more issues. We really enjoyed the missile tour.

    1. We'd probably have to keep Christmas day on December 25th but I agree we could change the celebration day to July or August 25th, that would be nice.
