HAVING FUN WITH FRIENDS

We stayed with friends, Kurt and Diane, for a couple of nights.  They have a beautiful home in Laguna Niquel.  Kurt belongs to a bridge club and had a game our first night.  So we went with Diane to Dana Point Harbor and walked along the marina which was decorated with Christmas lights.

The next day we walked along the Pacific shore and had lunch at a lovely restaurant on the beach. They made a blue cheese organic tomato soup with a flaky crust that was out of this world.  We had time to come back to the house, rest up a bit, take a shower before it was time to leave for dinner and the symphony.  Dinner was at the Silver Trumpet Restaurant in the Wyndham Hotel.  I had the arugula salad appetizer with caramelised pears, walnuts and goat cheese which was exceptional.

The tomato soup was awesome

Nothing is better than lunch with friends and a view of the ocean

We're helping Kurt and Diane do some "firsts" for them.  Their first "first" with us was going to the Albuquerque Balloon Festival and the second "first" was attending a symphony.

Beautiful symphony hall

Beautiful music
It was a lovely couple of days and we appreciate the kind hospitality of our dear friends.  When we left this morning it was raining and the rain was very heavy last night but not nearly as severe as what they had in northern California.  It's nice to visit friends but it's nice to be home again.

Thanks for stopping in to say hi.
