GOOD TIMES WITH GREAT FRIENDS

We left Fisherman's Retreat to store our coach at Cherry Valley for a couple of nights so that we could visit Kurt and Diane at their home in Laguna Niguel, CA. They have a lovely home in a gated community called Links Point abutting a golf course view.  They always make us feel welcome and we're very comfortable staying a few nights.

Arrived there late Wednesday afternoon we hung around the house catching up on each other lives and learning how to play Hearts.  Diane planned a very nice chicken kabob dinner for us and we ate til our bellies were full.  The weather was rainy and we prayed for a nice day tomorrow for our bike ride.

After a good nights sleep listening to the rain on the roof and breakfast, the rain stopped and the sun came out so we hopped on our bikes. Kurt led the way weaving through residential areas and great views. Some of the hills were challenging and we put in ten miles that afternoon.  We were all craving Diane's made-from-scratch minestrone soup.

We're not as young as we feel and our bodies required a nap before showering and getting ready for our night out on the town.

Kurt was feeling dizzy after his nap and was thinking about staying home but we're glad he muscled through it and I think he was happy he did too.  The restaurant was fancy and served food that looked almost too good to eat but eat we did.  It was nice to have valet service at the restaurant because the symphony hall was just across the street.

The boys spoiled their dinner by going
to Dairy Queen late in the afternoon and
found themselves sharing an entree

The symphony was Puccini's "Turandot". The Italian opera is a tragic love story similar to Madame Butterfly and some of you may recognize the aria called Nessun Dorma.  Click here for a Summary of "Turandot".   They had a chorus of some 50 people and very talented opera singers dressed in costume.  What an experience.

The next morning we had coffee with Kurt and Diane before heading out to pick up our coach and drive about 200 miles to Yuma Lakes RV Resort in Yuma, Arizona.  We'll be here for a few weeks and the weather has warmed up.

Thank you all for stopping in to say hi.  Hope you had a good day too.
