MAKING GOOD TIME ACROSS NEW MEXICO AND TEXAS

Not that we're rushing but we are making good time on our trip back east.  Today after a very good night's sleep, we drove 350 miles to a Crosbyton City Park in Texas.  Denis found a wonderful app that locates free sites and this was the first time we used it. What a find!

We love finding stops like this one,
notice we can fill up from on both sides

No joke, this is what
we paid

We're the only ones here taking
advantage of free camping

Friendly place to visit
Crosbyton is a city in the county seat of Crosby County, Texas with a population of around 1,740 just 36 miles east of Lubbock.  Too bad we won't have time to visit their Pioneer Memorial Museum, Mount Blanco Center and the Veteran's War Museum.  Maybe next time.

Seeing is believing - see us in the
background?

A little bit of history

Having fun - high, long and
slippery

Our neighbors
They also say they are a link to the Quanah Parker Trail.  I had to Google it.  It's a road trip guide compiled for the Texas Plains Trail Region, a 52-county heritage tourism region that takes in both the Panhandle and the Plains of Texas. Every star on every road trip map represents a place (real or legendary) in connection with the famous chief, the Comanche or other Plains Indians. Quanah Parker was the son of Comanche warrior Peta Nocona and a white captive-turned-Comanche Cynthia Ann Parker.  Interesting.

Thanks for stopping in to say hi.
