Sandwich, MA - Cape Cod

Weather is hazy, hot and humid so we got an early start to do some geocaching. First stop was the Boyden Conservation Area for a hiking trail with some geos along the way.  When we finished we were soaked with perspiration and decided no more hiking for the day.  What I like best about geocaching is the unexpected places we find along the way.  Like the Sandwich Trout Hatchery and a single grave of a black civil war soldier.

Yesterday we visited the Thorton W. Burgess Museum and the Green Briar Nature Center & Jam Kitchen. We learned Burgess lived on Washington Street in Springfield, MA from 1906-1929, bought Laughing Brook, stayed at the Lyons Nursing Home in Hampden and was buried in the Springfield Cemetery with his family in 1964.  We walked the trail at Green Briar and bought some apple butter and jam at the kitchen.

Try finding this micro geo without a Garmin GPS but I found it at the Sandwich Trout Hatchery

This is the trail head for Briar Patch Trail
