Winterhaven, CA - Just another lovely day in paradise

I want to say thank you to my fellow bloggers, Mike and Pat, Jeannine and Eldy, Rick and Kathy, Trink's Grandma and John and Ellen, for joining my site.  It's fun to share stories with like-minded people.

Forgot to mention last night we met our neighbours, Ed and Maureen, from British Columbia and had an impromptu happy hour with them and Tony and Mieke.  It was fun, but they kept talking about restaurants and food which isn't such a great topic when you're on the fourth day of an 8-day cleanse.  

I made brown organic rice last night for this morning's breakfast and do you know Denis got up at mid-night and starting digging in.  He just couldn't hold out any longer.  After eating veggies for four days straight, that rice tasted like filet mignon this morning.  Only three days remaining.

This morning Tony and Mieke joined us for 8:00 mass which was a nice surprise.  The rest of the day was pretty relaxing, with a little bit of exercise and some time soaking up some Vitamin D.

Got to spend some time on the phone with Christi and Daniel catching up on what's been happening in their lives.  Christi is still job hunting in Montreal and has an interview.  Daniel is mending a broken heart and trying to work out a few personal issues.  Please keep them in your prayers if you are so inclined.

Dad turns 84 tomorrow and my brother picked
him up at the Soldier's Home today.  Dad had
a chance to visit his dog, Mikey, and they surprised him with a special birthday cake.
