Yesterday we had a visit from Don and Betty because they know Tony and Mieke. Tony sent them my blog and told them we were in the same park. Voila new friends ... that's how it works in the RV world. Tony and Mieke stopped by today to say goodbye because they're heading home. We shared a quick and easy lunch before they had to leave.
That left us with a free afternoon for some much needed shopping. Denis dropped me off to Walmart and he headed over to Staples for printer paper and ink. My niece, Amanda, is coming for a 2-week visit and we're very excited. As some of you may or may not know, we got rid of our sofa bed and replaced it with two very comfortable recliners. Of course, that leaves guests without a place to sleep (yes, we do have an occasional guest). Problem solved at Walmart with the purchase of a self-inflating twin 13" deep air mattress with specially designed sheets.
Walmart shoppers know that once you're in the clutches of their store you can't escape easily and $140 later we had a full cart of "essentials". By the time we finished unloading the car and stocking our shelves it was time to make dinner. Grilled salmon, baked potato and a large green salad.
The day doesn't stop there, oh no. I made the mistake of mentioning to Denis how nice it would be to have surround sound because of our new TV arrangement. The speakers are already there and in a perfect location behind our recliners so it should be simple enough. You already know the punch line to this joke. After numerous calls to his buddy at Triple E and a lot of poking around underneath the slide, the project has begun. Denis pulls everything out from one of the outdoor storage compartments and crawls inside to find those speaker wires, they must be somewhere. Next is the sound of a drill coming up from the floor, thankfully, it was in the TV cabinet. Wires located, hole drilled and now a quick run to the store for something he needs to finish the project.
Not so simple, Denis comes back with this big box. What the heck is this? The guy at the store told him he needs a receiver to connect the TV to the speakers and they had a used one for $100. I think this is going to be an ongoing project and will have more on this later.
Sorry, still no pictures. That's Denis' job and I don't have the heart to bug him when he's caught up on this project.
Always amazing how these projects all get out of control somehow. If Jim says two hours I add at least four to that.
ReplyDeleteAwe, go ahead and bug him! I think he needs a break.
ReplyDeleteSound like a great day meeting up with people.
