KILLING ROACHES AND ENJOYING NEW FRIENDS

Thanks everyone for your feedback on my roach problem.  We setup little roach motels everywhere and ordered an electronic bug devise from Amazon that is supposed to drive bugs out.  I hope that solves our problem.

I spent some time with Maria helping her setup a blog.  It was a good refresher for me and we both learned new things.  I'm thinking of tightening up my privacy settings.  Currently my blog is open to the public by default.  Have any of you used the Private setting for readers only?  Or do you have any suggestions in keeping my blog more private than public?

Your blog is open to all readers by default.

Your blog is restricted so that only blog authors can read it.
Other visitors to this blog will not be able to read any posts; instead they will get a message stating that this is a private blog.

You can restrict your blog to only readers you choose. However, these readers will need to log in before reading your blog, adding an extra step.
We'll save your readers list for you, so you can switch back at any time.

Today we enjoyed the pool and sauna and went to a movie with Gene and Maria. Have you seen Gravity with Sandra Bullock and George Clooney?  We watched it in 3D and it was certainly action packed.  The story line was pretty far fetched but it was entertaining.

After the movie, we went to a Chinese restaurant called Peony.  The portion sizes were huge and I was glad Denis and I shared one dish.  Gene and Maria have enough food left over for a couple more meals.  It was fun to get to know Gene and Maria a little better and we had a nice time.

That's all folks!  Thanks for stopping in.

  1. We started our Blog out privately in the beginning, but the people I thought were going to read it but did not very much, and was only getting a few hits a day. Now that its public we have met a whole new world of bloggers out there.
But ultimately the choice is yours, if you want the blog for a personal diary and a few close friends then private is will be.

    1. Isn't it funny how we think people we're sure will enjoy our blog don't read it??!! I changed a few settings but will still leave it open to the public and I'll see how that works out.

  2. I'm sure you don't care who reads your post but are probably having problems with Anonymous comments like many of us have in the past. If you set it to registered users that is someone with Open ID (they are registered with Google, Facebook or Yahoo) it still allows nonbloggers such as family and friends to make comments. The next step would be to Moderate all comments and you can still allow or block anonymous comments. Hope that helps you out. Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time

    1. Thank you, I like the idea of Open ID and have changed my setting. I do moderate all comments and report Anonymous comments as spam.

  3. My blog is open to the public. I'm not a very private person and if somebody wants to read my blog, that's okay. At least that works for me. I heard that Gravity was really good and action packed.

  4. You are obviously living the good life in California! Keep it up. We absolutely loved Simon Burch - what a sweet little movie. I am "renting" it out so that others can enjoy it, too. Take care!
